What did you do prior to joining the MBA?

I worked for about five and a half years in various industries. In my last role, I held the role of Senior Manager, Operations for a leading supply chain and logistics company in India.

Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I wanted to pivot into strategy, and I also wanted to understand the nuances of leadership and strengthen my business fundamentals.

Why did you choose Lancaster University?

It has one of the best-ranked business schools in the world. Also, the MBA program I wanted to pursue at LUMS had the right blend of experiential learning that I was looking for.

What did you enjoy most about the Lancaster MBA?

The four challenges that were part of our course gave me tremendous industry exposure and honed my skills to become a future leader.

We did consultancy projects for various businesses within the UK and abroad. These projects involved solving a real business problem for the organisation. We consulted in the areas of Strategy, Operations and Digital Transformation, to name a few. We received mentorship from the Entrepreneurs in Residence and our executive coaches during these projects and they were a constant motivation for us to excel.

What/who inspired you most and why?

The atmosphere that LUMS creates enables anyone to give their best. The professors, the various consultancy projects with businesses, and the fast-paced nature of the program inspired me to always be on top of my game.

What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?

My best memories are from the time I spent with my MBA groups, brainstorming ideas and finishing projects. The various relationships I made along the way will forever be etched in my memory. Lastly, the various social events I was able to attend during my time at Lancaster gave me an opportunity to meet new people and understand different cultures.

Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preperation for your job?

The various hands-on projects that I carried out played a big part in preparing for my next role. The emphasis on reflecting on past experiences helped shape my vision and idea of leadership.

What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?

It has opened my mind to various possibilities. I can read long articles now with ease and extract meaning. I am more equipped to establish meaningful relationships with peers and colleagues, and I have honed my skills to work in dynamic and diverse teams.
