LUMS undergraduate marketing students Lauren Gallagher and Reece Stanton have been successful in securing places at Sun Yat Sen University’s International Summer Programme (SYS ISP).

Sun Yat Sen is a LUMS partner university in Guangzhou, in the south of China. The International Summer Programme (ISP) is a three-week intensive programme which combines academic studies, such as doing business in China, with cultural experiences, including Mandarin lessons and Chinese calligraphy.

Reece and Lauren have each been awarded a £500 studentship by the  (LCMC) towards their flights and accommodation costs and have benefited from tailored Mandarin language classes provided by the Lancaster University Confucius Institute.

The two students were selected after submitting a short essay, detailing how they would use their experience at the Sun Yat Sen ISP to benefit the wider student community upon their return to Lancaster next year.

We wish Lauren and Reece all the best for their summer adventures in China!
