Degree: International Masters Program for Managers (IMPM), 2016
Chief Strategy Officer, KNOCK
Why did you choose to do the IMPM?
The owner of our company, KNOCK, completed the program and loved the perspective it brought her. She advocated for me to do the program as well. I visited her during her Rio / Action Mindset module and I was fascinated - the program is very interactive and immersive, and I was compelled by the connections and activities I saw. I appreciate experiential learning more than traditional classroom settings and saw that the IMPM valued and leveraged both.
What surprised you the most about the program?
It is one thing to stay in your own country and industry, it was another to venture elsewhere. I found it invigorating and inspiring to partner closely with people from all over the world who are in different industries. It was amazing: the perspective, the connection and insight that came from non-traditional forums and the unique bonds we made.
What are the key skills gained that you have used most?
I learned many academic models and tools and how to use and adapt them to specific needs within my industry. I learned how valuable introspection and authenticity is, and mostly I learned how essential perspective is… perspectives different than your own.
What have you learned about yourself?
I learned to embrace my own strengths, and appreciate the strengths of the people around me.
Your advice for future IMPM students.
Be open, and curious.
