SAP SD Consultant, Atos International
From 2002-06 I studied at Lancaster University Management School as an undergraduate on the BBA Management degree scheme. Therefore, before even applying for the MSc in E-Business and Innovation (EBIN), I had first-hand experience of student life and of the delivery excellence of the Management School. As a result, as soon as I recognised the need to enhance my skill-set with a more technical postgraduate qualification, returning to Lancaster was an easy decision for me to make.
The EBIN programme is highly demanding and tested my ability not only to grasp complex material as an individual, but also to work to tight deadlines amongst diverse project teams. Particular highlights for me included the ‘Dragons' Den’ style experience of business planning, the practical SAP workshops, and the opportunity to stretch myself by volunteering for technical modules outside of my comfort zone.
The programme also provided me with the invaluable opportunity to interact with people from all over the world, who have since become valuable contacts and cherished friends. I graduated with Distinction and was awarded the accolade of best overall performance, which has given me a solid academic backbone to launch my career.
After leaving Lancaster I was fortunate enough to secure a position on the graduate development programme with Atos Origin UK. I am working on implementation projects within the SAP practice, and I’m on a training scheme to become a functional SAP consultant. Atos Origin is an award-winning SAP partner, employing over 4,400 consultants worldwide, and has over 20 years experience in delivering solutions. The Atos graduate programme is building on the knowledge acquired from my MSc, and helping me to harness my soft skills and technical competency, in order to be successful in challenging project environments.
