Country of origin: Vietnam

MA Human Resources & Consulting, LUMS

To broaden her experience, Dzung took on a wide variety of volunteering projects during her BSc Marketing degree at LUMS, and she then decided to stay on to study for an MA in HR & Consulting.

I chose to study at Lancaster University Management School because of its worldwide reputation for teaching quality. The affordable living cost in relation to bigger cities in the UK also made it attractive to me, as an international student.

The BSc Marketing programme was very challenging; this in turn motivated me to strive and excel at every piece of coursework. It raised my academic confidence and honed my skills in various forms of assessment, including live projects, presentations, teamwork, essays, or report writing. I think it was the ‘challenge’ that I liked the most about my degree!

Outside of my studies, I got involved in the Baking Society and the Vietnamese Society. Regarding part-time jobs, I worked as a room checker for Lancaster University residences, an office assistant for LU Student-based Services, and a waitress for a Thai restaurant. I also volunteered for a number of projects – with Green Lancaster, at a primary school coordinated by LUSU Involve, at a Haffner Orchestra Concert, and as a transition guide for the Transition Guide Scheme.

All in all, my experience at Lancaster was fantastic!
