Country of origin: Pakistan

Research Officer, Ministry of Finance (Pakistan)

The MRes Money, Banking and Finance programme is well structured. I gained an in-depth knowledge of Economics and Finance and improved my critical analysis skills.

In my opinion the most interesting part of this programme was the dissertation phase. During this time, I interacted directly with my supervisor, Professor Ivan Paya, who taught me a more theoretical understanding of economics together with helping me to improve my IT skills.

After finishing this one-year Masters at LUMS, I believe that I definitely chose the right programme. During my stay at Lancaster I thoroughly enjoyed the multicultural life on campus and interacting with students from different countries.

Before starting this programme I was working in the Economic Advisory Department of the Ministry of Finance, Pakistan where, during my short stay, I contributed by writing a chapter in the Economic Survey of Pakistan 2010-11. Since completing this programme I have joined the Planning and Development Division as a Research Officer.
