Policy and Processes

How to access Lancaster University's Disability Policy and information about our support processes, including how to request a review or appeal.

We have put together a range of information for staff relating to the University's Disability Policy for students, including the legal framework and adjustments that students can expect. While this is predominantly aimed at staff, as students, you also have the right to know what level of service you can expect from the University. What is classed as a disability can also be a source of some confusion, so the FAQs section on the Policy page aims to answer these and other policy-related queries.

Processes for support, reviews and appeals

If you have a condition that is classified as a disability, the Disability Service can help put in place various forms of support.  As a disabled student your Inclusive Learning and Support Plan (ILSP) is your official record of the support and reasonable adjustments required to enable you to study successfully.  The processes for getting an ILSP and information about to ask for a review of your support or to appeal a support decision are outlined here to help you to understand our support systems.
