Lancaster University’s Careers & Employability service is thrilled to announce that it has been nominated for an award at The Whatuni Student Choice Awards (the WUSCAs) 2024 which are due to take place in London on Wednesday 24 April.

Lancaster University is proud to have been shortlisted in the submission-based award category of ‘Career Coaching and Work Placements’ along with four other universities. Reaching the top five in this category recognises the commitment and dedication that the team in supporting students to complete work placements.

Jo Hobbs - Placement Year Manager and Careers Consultant in the Careers team said:

“Lancaster University is delighted to be a WUSCA finalist, shortlisted in the top 5 out of 34 institutions, for the What Uni Student Choice Awards 2024 submission-based category of ‘Career Coaching and Work Placements’. Our award submission included student feedback from placement-module evaluations, as well as fantastic examples of placement students’ work-based learning poster assessment; it is great to see that the WUSCA panel of student judges were impressed with these pieces of coursework and our placement provision too. I am excited to find out which University is the overall category winner on April 24th.”

The WUSCAs is the only Higher Education awards ceremony in the UK where institutions are solely judged and reviewed by students themselves across a variety of categories. This annual event is a celebration of the student voice and the hard work of higher education providers across the UK to deliver exceptional student experiences.
