As a keen photographer, Maria Salama took part in the EGU Photo Competition 2022. The annual competition includes photos on any theme related to the Earth, planetary, and space sciences.

Maria submitted three photos, one of a vaporising waterfall gap within rocky mountains in Iceland. The second of the famous towering seaside Pigeon Rocks of Lebanon. The other one is of one of the giant rocks naturally formed in the White Desert of Egypt.
