1. The competition is open to current Lancaster University students in the UK only.
2. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
3. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
4. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows: Entrants must like the competition post and tag a friend they would take on a campus lunch date in the comments of the competition post. The competition runs from Thursday 26 September to Friday 4 October 2024. Outside these dates, no further entries to the competition will be accepted.
5. The winner will receive the prize of a Freedom Eats Card, entitling them to one meal per weekday at any of the five participating outlets in the Freedom Eats scheme: The Marketplace, The Deli, HIVE, Barkers, and The Mill (Fylde Bar). The prize is as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Lancaster Campus Life is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
6. The winner will be chosen at random by the Lancaster Campus Life team on Monday 7 October 2024.
7. The winner will be notified by direct message via Instagram. They will be asked to provide an email address, so arrangements can be made to deliver the prize. The email address provided will not be used to send promotions from Lancaster Campus Life or shared with a third party.
8. The winner will be announced on the Lancaster Campus Life stories. This announcement will include the name/social media handle of the winner.
9. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social network. Entrants also release Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social network of any responsibility by participating in the promotion.
10. All data and information you provide will be to Lancaster Campus Life and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at www.lancaster.ac.uk/compliance/privacy under section ‘Students’.
11. Personal data collected as part of this competition, for both successful and unsuccessful entrants, will only be retained for the period necessary to administer the giveaway and notify the winner.
12. Any personal data relating to the winner, or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
13. Entrants should be aware that once data is uploaded to social media platforms, Lancaster Campus Life does not exert control over future use, sharing or security, and Lancaster Campus Life does not control or have influence over the social media platforms’ retention of data as outlined in their privacy policies.
14. Winners have the right to withdraw themselves from the competition, prior to any social media winner announcement as well as receiving their Freedom Eats Card prize. If consent is withdrawn, then it will not invalidate any processing of personal data carried out whilst the consent was valid.
