Co-op store opens on South campus
A Co-op convenience store is now open on Lancaster University’s South Spine.
The store, which opened on Thursday 6 November, offers meal deals, hot food, and fresh produce, as well as everyday essentials.
In addition to seven permanent jobs, the store offers part-time and casual employment opportunities to up to 50 students.
Jo Hardman, Director of Commercial Services, Lancaster University, said: “Lancaster University is continually focused on enhancing campus life for those studying, living, working, and visiting the University.
“Co-op has a strong ethical and sustainable ethos, and we are pleased to see the launch of a new Co-op franchise store on campus, which will be a welcome new addition for our campus community.”
Soft plastics, such as crisp packets, bread bags and biscuit wrappers can be recycled in store.
The store plans to introduce online delivery using Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
