Contribute to a parliamentary briefing or POST note

POST Notes or Briefings

A POSTnote is a parliamentary briefing produced by the Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology (POST). Contributions are requested throughout the parliamentary year for different subjects. The LU policy newsletter advertises opportunities.

Why are they worth engaging with?

The POST published reports are widely use by parliament staff, MPs, and their advisers. They can help get your name known in policy circles in your research field and help inform future policy.

How to respond to a POST note open call

Follow POST’s general guidance notes for writing for POST. They usually involve a short application followed by a call with an adviser if they are interested in your contributions. We have colleagues that have contributed to POST notes who may be able to let you know about the process and give tips for engaging. Contact policy@lancaster.ac.uk and we can put you in touch.
