Engineering at Lancaster has also been recognised for the vibrancy of its research environment.

This has also been assessed as being 100% internationally excellent and world leading – offering strong support for researchers, the opportunities for cross disciplinary research and excellent links with other engineering research institutions worldwide.

Lancaster is one of only 6 UK universities to have achieved these gold standards in both research environment and impact.

Professor Malcolm Joyce, Head of the Engineering Department said: “This is a fantastic result that demonstrates that the Department produces world class research of high societal and economic benefit. It also shows that the Department is an international go-to destination for the conducting of such research.”
