Event Details
The ELCW Castle symposium, in partnership with the University of Lausanne, showcases scholarship in medieval and Early Modern literature.
Join the Premodernists at Lancaster University for our annual interdisciplinary Castle Symposium, on the theme of ‘built environments’. The day will be hosted in our own premodern ‘built environment’, Lancaster Castle. Connecting the white rose with the red, the day will feature speakers from Lancaster University and the University of York, as well as visiting students and academics from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Topics include malleable anchorholds, riverine adaptations, and early medieval fortifications, and speakers’ disciplinary expertise spans the fields of history, literary studies and historical semantics. This event is kindly supported by Lancaster University.
