Councillor Matthew Brown Leader of the City of Preston

Councillor Matthew Brown will deliver the inaugural 2026 Lancaster Local Government Lecture on February 11 in the Management School (LT15) on campus from noon until 1.30pm with tea and coffee served. Since summer 2025, the University’s School of Global Affairs has led activities connecting with the north-west region and responding to the debate around English Devolution.Councillor Brown will outline his vision for the future of the Lancashire region - in particular, his pioneering ‘Preston model’ for regional development..
