In recent decades, a common theme addressed by a wide variety of academic fields of Western/-ized knowledge, spanning natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, design, and more, is the concept of the ‘Anthropocene’, a proposed representation of a current geological era characterised by humanity’s impact on the geological and ontological constitution of planet Earth. Juan Montalván Lume is a Lecturer in Transcultural Studies and Socionatural Systemic Networks at PUCP, Peru, and a PhD researcher in Pluriversal and Socionatural approaches to Urban Planning and Policy at Lancaster University. He is the Head of the Interplanetary Design Division at the Center for Space Systems and International Advisory Councilor of the Design Research Society.
