Quan Zi, a PhD student from the Lancaster Institute for Contemporary Arts will be running this 2 hour ink painting workshop as part of Light Up Lancaster.

In this workshop, participants will learn about Ink Painting.

This workshop is open to all members of the community (age 18 and over).

Level: Beginner

Workshop content:

1. Introduction to Chinese traditional painting materials（Talk 10 mins）

2. Try to use the brush/ink on rice paper ：

Skill of Brush-中锋ZhongFeng/侧锋CeFeng/逆锋NiFeng（10min demonstration+20mins Practice ）

3. Try to Paint a Traditional ink Tree（10min demonstration+20mins Practice）

4. Try to Paint a Traditional ink House（10min demonstration+20mins）

5. Free Painting - Try to create a complete ink painting（20mins）

Please note that you may wish to bring an apron with you as you will be working with ink.
