The UK-China Film Collab is an independent non-profit organisation set up to inspire and invent film related collaboration and cutting edge debate between the UK and Greater China. From 10th May to 10th June 2022, the UK-China Film Collab will be hosting 'Odyssey: A Chinese cinema season' - the biggest Chinese film festival in Europe.

'Odyssey' aims to empower a shared appreciation of film, to create an inclusive cinematic experience, and to encourage cross-cultural understanding. With more than 60 films in 6 curated sections, 10 panel discussions and many inspiring Q&A sessions, it provides a whole month of outstanding and innovative Chinese cinema that promises to illuminate your mind. The hybrid festival will not only introduce the latest young Chinese film talents to the UK audience, but also provide forums for professionals to exchange creativity and business ideas.

Two current Languages students, Lily Collinson and Martha Harwood, were selected as members to the UK-China Film Collab via the organisation's Future Talent Programme 2021-22, working on their own projects alongside their studies at Lancaster University. Both Lily and Martha will be presenting on their projects during the festival season.

As Lead Literary Curator and Publicist for the UK-China Film Collab, Lily will be taking part in the first panel discussion 'TwinFlame: the reception of British cinema among Chinese audiences' on Friday, May 13th at 13:00 via Zoom.

As Journalism and UK Communications Specialist for the UK-China Film Collab, Martha will be speaking on the topic of 'An Investigation into current press coverages of Chinese-language films in the UK', which will be taking place on Saturday, June 4th at 13:00 via Zoom.
