This two-day workshop is delivered as part of Lancaster University's Health Innovation Campus. If you are a small or medium-sized businesses in Lancashire and have an idea for a digital healthcare solution, or provide digital services and have an interest in health, this workshop is for you.
Two-day Workshop: Day 1: Thursday 12th & Day 2: Thursday 26th March 2020
Delivered as part of Lancaster University's Health Innovation Campus this two-day workshop is for small and medium-sized businesses in Lancashire.
Digital technologies are one of the principal enablers in the transformation of healthcare through innovation of products, processes and services. The use of technology in supporting people to monitor and manage their own health and wellbeing is also creating new opportunities in the health and wellbeing sector.
If you have an idea for a healthcare innovation using a digital solution, or provide digital services and have an interest in the health and wellbeing sector, this workshop is for you.
To begin you will hear from one of our experts in digital security and innovation talk about the fundamentals of designing digital solutions that are secure from the outset. Through an interactive session you will identify potential risks in digital product innovation. You will also hear from our team who offer digital support to test and prototype your ideas.
Throughout the workshop you will explore ideas using a proven innovation process called Design Thinking. This process has been tried and tested in a number of sectors and provides a person-centred and structured approach to drive and implement innovation. You will put Design Thinking into practice working collaboratively to develop solutions for health challenges and leave with the tools to use in your own business or organisation.

Who should get involved?
This two-day workshop will support aspirational businesses and organisations based in Lancashire (including social enterprises and charities). It is open to those from any sector who have a product or service idea that could be applied to the health and wellbeing sector or those with plans to explore the sector as a growth opportunity.
Additional Information
Places are fully-funded and available to businesses who meet European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) eligibility criteria. Places are limited to only one representative per organisation.
Criteria includes:
- Currently trading and based in Lancashire
- With fewer than 250 full-time employees
- An annual turnover less than €43 million
- Received less than €200,000 of publicly funded support in the last 3 years.
You will be required to attend both days; following registration you will be sent an application form to assess your eligibility for this fully funded workshop. Company information will be requested to meet our funder's requirements.
