Two-day Health Innovation Workshop
Day 1: Tuesday 11 May 2021, Day 2: Tuesday 18 May 2021
Helping businesses collaborate to develop innovative propositions for health and wellbeing
Delivered as part of Lancaster University's Health Innovation Campus, this virtual two-day workshop is for leaders and entrepreneurs with an ambition to develop new products, processes and services for their business, charity, or social enterprise which positively impact societal health.
Whether your organisation is already servicing the health, care and wellbeing sectors or is a newcomer to the market, you are invited to join us to re-imagine health solutions.
This opportunity will enable you to find space to innovate and ensure that your ideas are effectively evaluated, with the chance to ask the right questions before taking the product to market.
Working with business experts, you will learn to use a creative innovation process 'Design Thinking'. This will help you to explore ideas, understand users’ needs, problem solve, and develop better products and services to meet the health and wellbeing needs of a rapidly growing market.
During the workshop, you will be assigned a health challenge to work on in collaboration with others, have an opportunity to network, and learn from the peer group. The workshop is designed to help you to apply the tools for innovation back into your business and expand your capacity for innovation.
Unlike other business workshops, we come at the development of products and services from a social perspective. You will explore how social, economic, and environmental factors affect a person’s health and wellbeing and explore innovative ways you could offer new health and wellbeing solutions.
Testimonials:
“I really benefitted from the design thinking exercise; it provided a helpful framework for product development, with achievable steps to get from A to B. I have used the process within our business, and it even got a place on my noticeboard!” - Joanne Burr, Director at Communicate Speech and Language Therapy CIC
“It was really insightful because there was a mix of expertise in the room. It was clear that health and wellbeing practices did not always align with entrepreneurial needs and the key was to find a balance between the two functions to become innovative.” - Lee Chambers, Director at Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing
“With peer support, I was able to validate my idea using the Design Thinking process and this gave me the confidence I needed to move it forward. Before we left it was great to hear that it wasn’t the end of the line; there is more support available should we need it.” - Jawad Bhatti, Director at Pulse Media Group
