Join us for a day of exploring the wonders of wildlife and the wellbeing opportunities it provides.
Reconnecting with nature can have a positive impact on wellbeing. Taking time to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the natural world together is a well-known method of helping combat depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. Whether you are an avid nature enthusiast, a curious individual, or a passionate advocate for environmental causes, join us to take a moment in nature.
Discover the ways in which our interaction with nature positively impacts mental and physical health and learn about the innovative approaches being taken around Morecambe Bay to help make the most of the environment.
We’ll be transforming our Innovation Lab in to a Wildlife Wellness Centre for the day with talks from Alex Blomfield, Nature and Wellbeing Officer at The Bay Wellbeing, Kirsty Tyler and Wellbeing Officer for The Wildlife Trust, Dr Kate Slade from our Sports and Exercise Science team and the team from the The Bay will be here all afternoon to talk through their work.
The Wildlife Trust will also be offering guided wellbeing walks of campus:
12.30 - 20 minute walk: 5 ways to wellbeing on your lunch
13.00 - 40 minute walk: Guided walk on campus including 5 ways to wellbeing and some species identification
14.00 - 1 hour: Guided walk of campus including 5 ways to wellbeing, species identification and more
