Bob Hart - Rosebank PR and Communications

Bob Hart

Hi Bob, hope you're well. Can you paint us a portrait of yourself and your role?

After working in journalism, marketing and PR, I set up as an independent consultant in 2020. Rosebank PR & Communications now works with a wide range of organisations from the NHS, public sector bodies to charities and private businesses.

As well as running my business, I’m a non-executive director of Lancaster and Morecambe Chamber of Commerce.

Outside work I do lots of cycling and hiking and am generally very outdoorsy.

What does a typical working day look like for you?

There’s no such thing. One of the best things about doing what I do is the endless variety - helping clients to tell their stories and communicate their messages through words, images and video across multiple forms of media.

That can vary from communicating key information to sharing inspirational news, and offering support at times of crisis.

Sometimes I work with clients entirely remotely, but it’s always enjoyable, when possible, to meet people face-to-face and get out and about at events.

What motivates you to do what you do?

I only work with clients whose values align with my own and work to make a positive impact on the communities and sectors they serve.

Using the skills I’ve accumulated over the years to support them to make positive change is highly-rewarding.

What is/has been your favourite aspect of being part of the collaborative community through the Health Innovation Campus?

The shift to remote-working has been one of the things which has made my business possible, but it can also make you feel disconnected at times.

Access to the Health Innovation Campus’ business facilities has been a useful way of seeing other human beings and enjoying the social side of being part of the business community.

It’s been particularly enjoyable to work with the HIC’s Stuart Powers to create our Business Bike Club networking group.

I’ve also been able to access useful advice and guidance which has been a huge help, especially in the early stage of business ownership.

What future projects and collaborations are you excited about?

After a busy 2024, I’m looking forward to more contracts in the health and charity sector this year.

Alongside my goals for the business, I’m on a mission to get more people riding bikes for leisure and transport.

More people cycling has been shown to improve public health, reduce pollution and even increase spending in high streets. I’m continuing to get involved in cycling projects in the region and hope to see lots more new faces at future Business Bike Club events.
