Barbara Daniels has been given an alumni award at the July graduation ceremonies.

After graduating from Lancaster University in 1986 with a degree in English, Barbara Daniels spent 10 years working as an English teacher.

Her passion, though, was for cricket. She represented England from 1993 to 2000, and was part of the World Cup-winning side of 1993.

Her subsequent career has been in sport development, coaching and coach education for national governing bodies, and she has run her own consultancy for the last 15 years.

She works on an international coaching project run by Olympic Solidarity, the US Olympic Committee and the University of Delaware, and is a key member of the Women in Sport Leadership Academy.
