Lancaster University has celebrated the achievements of hundreds of postgraduates in four ceremonies which took place on Wednesday.

More than 1,800 Higher Degrees and Diplomas were conferred in person or in absentia by Pro-Chancellor Lord Roger Liddle and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Atherton.

More than 300 staff from across the University took part in the ceremonies.

Honorary Degrees were conferred on Professor Richard Clegg and Dame Barbara Monroe, with an Alumni Award presented to Amaro Gomes. Five graduates received the Chancellor’s Medal in recognition of their exceptional achievements.

Among those graduating were award-winning writer Yvonne Battle-Felton, expert in degree ceremonies Sandra Wearden, architect and designer Rawa Abu Lawa, and former Postgraduate Board Events Officer Yanisa Thanomrod.
