Post-Bayesian Inference
In recent years, a surge in the popularity of deep learning and the prevalence of large datasets with new data modalities has revealed key weaknesses in the mathematical foundations of Bayesian statistics. In response, a cluster of post-Bayesian approaches has formed. This masterclass will deliver a guided tour through the foundational questions posited by Bayesian methods, elaborate on their post-Bayesian counterproposals, and explore the current direction of travel for this new field of research.
