What happens if I am in Clearing?
If you check your exam results first remember that depending on the circumstances you have may been accepted into your chosen university despite not meeting the conditions requested so remember to check UCAS Track to see the University status.
If you are in Clearing, you'll need to call our hotlines on August 17th. When you call, you'll need:
- Your UCAS Personal ID number.
- The grades you have achieved (this may include GCSE requirements). Remember that your A-Level results will not appear in UCAS Track, and you will have to go to your school or college if you do not receive these by post.
Clearing allows you to choose any course that is available provided there are places and you meet the grade and subject requirements. Therefore, you do not have to apply to the same subject field as your initial application. Some universities may directly request a second personal statement should you choose a completely different subject field. Remember to keep checking emails for correspondence from the University.
If after receiving your results you intend to request that an exam or course be re-graded, you must provide the final transcript to the University by 31st August. We do not need to know if you intend to request this as there is nothing further we can do until receive confirmation of a new score/grade.
Check your emails throughout the day for further information from your chosen institution regarding confirming your place at university.
