Sarah Bater - Team Heathrow Member

Sarah studied Organisation Studies and Human Resources and graduated in 2001. She was a member of Furness College.

I was involved in Team Heathrow, the host Airport for the Olympics and Paralympics  This is the team that sorted the arrivals and departures for the Olympics and the same for the Paralympics. We met and greeted the athletes, international committee members, team coaches, medical support, chef de missions, etc.  I was a journey leader managing and leading a team of volunteers who met the above from arrival/departure and escorted them through the airport to assist with their needs.

It was an experience of a lifetime and a real honour to represent Great Britain. The volunteers were inspirational.  I even had a Lancaster undergraduate student (studying English) working with me, Nancy Bains, also from Furness College!
