Sandra WeardenPhD student
Sandra is currently considering the role that ceremonial rituals play in contemporary societies by researching degree ceremonies in transcultural higher education settings.
Adopting a socio-material transcultural framework for this study requires a rejection of traditional conceptualisations of culture that have been heavily influenced by the idea of single cultures. Instead, transcultural perspectives encourage a view of cultures characterised by their dynamic entangled networks resulting from centuries of intermingling through classically defined cultural boundaries.
Sandra has a Masters degree in Management and Organisational Learning, and has previously worked in change management and a variety of different learning settings in the public and private sector in the UK, USA, Europe, Middle East and South East Asia.
