Come along to this bite-sized skills session and deepen you understanding of what critical thinking means.

Critical thinking is one of the central practices of Western universities, but it is a very normal to be confused about exactly what this term means. Perhaps this was not an idea taught in your school, or perhaps you are coming from a non-western university where different practices were valued – whatever the reason, you are not alone in being confused. Yet improving critical thinking is vital, not least because improving your critical thinking is often the key to improving your marks, no matter what grade you are currently working at. Whether this concept is new to you or you are just looking to refine your understanding, this session is for you. It will focus on practical tips, allowing participants to improve their essay writing skills while deepening their understanding of the theory underlying this widespread, highly valued practice.
