Our Initiative

At Lancaster University, our sense of community is part of what makes us special. The aim of Hidden Gems is to facilitate students' discovery of spaces, societies and events that help create our sense of community.

Hidden Gems is a personalised discovery and engagement feature within iLancaster. It helps students and visitors uncover valuable spaces, activities and events across campus and the city. By combining community contributions with AI-guided discovery, Hidden Gems aims to improve student belonging, engagement and sense of community.

Hidden Gems is currently running as a Proof of Value (PoV) project in discovery. Insights from this phase will inform whether and how the feature is expanded.
