Mission

MIRL will deliver world-leading physical computing research and innovation that will accelerate the ongoing ability of the Micro:bit Educational Foundation and the broader EdTech community to engage and benefit even more young people around the world.

Working closely with the Foundation, and collaborating with other universities and organisations worldwide, MIRL will amplify and extend the global impact of micro:bit by:

  • Leading and expanding the global community of researchers and innovators.
  • Evaluating and enhancing the micro:bit platform and related technologies to meet the changing needs of educators and their students.
  • Developing and supporting new technologies and educational tools that enhance and extend the micro:bit ecosystem to support greater impact.
