Research Overview

My interest is HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) and UX (User Experience) Research (UXR) and Design (UXD) with a focus on working with users to understand usage of technology and explore new application areas. I am particularly interested in working with younger users (children and teenagers) to understand the unique challenges and issues they face in their technology use, and in developing new design and evaluation techniques for these populations. My recent work has focussed on developing co-design techniques for teenagers, understanding the impact of deceptive design and monetization on younger users, and the use of physical computing to support STEM learning.
