Dr Nhu Quynh Do

International Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Research Overview

Quynh Do is an expert in supply chain digitalisation and sustainable governance. She holds a Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of Hull (2021), where she investigated innovative pathways for circular supply chains.

Her research specialises in how digital product passports (DPPs), platform ecosystems, and multi-stakeholder governance can drive systemic change in high-compliance sectors—ranging from manufacturing and critical materials to agri-food systems. Her work challenges conventional compliance methods (such as social audits) by proposing digitally enabled pathways for decarbonisation, waste reduction, and social value creation. She seeks to answer critical questions such as: Why do conventional approaches like certifications and audits fail to address ethical issues in supply chains? How do digital and social innovations contribute to more just outcomes? How do collaborative ecosystems build resilience against supply shocks and climate risks? And how can marginalised actors (e.g., informal recyclers, SME suppliers) be meaningfully integrated into formal, sustainable supply chains?

Her work bridges the gap between theory and practice. She actively collaborates with high-tech SMEs inCumbria and the North West, helping them translate global supply chain innovations into regional competitive advantage. By co-creating solutions with local businesses, she supports the region’s transition toward a high-value, circular economy.

Internationally, her portfolio includes engagement with global NGOs, technology providers, and industry platforms (e.g., Reverse Resources, Global Fashion Agenda, Denim Deal, Responsible Sourcing Network) to shape policy around ethical sourcing. She is currently seeking partnerships with organizations interested in piloting next-generation supply chain visibility tools and circular business models.
