Twelve students have received awards for their excellent performances in Science and Technology postgraduate subjects.
The honours were announced at the Graduation Ceremony for Postgraduate Research and Taught Masters students. Over 250 people were in attendance. The winners by department are as follows:
Psychology
- Jacky Chan - Ed Chronicle Award for Best Overall Performance by an MSc Student
Mathematics and Statistics
- Paul Baines – Postgraduate Statistics Centre prize for Excellence in Learning 2015/16
- Jack Waudby – Tessella industrial prize for Best Computational MSc Statistics Project
- Kara-Louise Royle – Postgraduate Statistics Centre prize for Excellence in Learning 2015/16
- Kara-Louise Royle – Royal Statistical Society prize for Outstanding Performance on an Accredited Course
Data Science
- Camille Tiennot - Best Overall Data Science Student
- Clement Tiennot - Joint AstraZeneca prize for Best Data Science Dissertation Project
- Jeffrey Wong - Joint AstraZeneca prize for Best Data Science Dissertation Project
Lancaster Environment Centre
- Alex Smith – Best Overall Performance
- Clare Brewster – Best Dissertation
- Jessica Moult – Best Industry-based Project
- Rob Brooks – Beven Hydrology Dissertation prize
Computing and Communications
- Haozheng Zhu – Best Student 2015/16
- Haozheng Zhu – Best Cyber Security Student Project
- George Stylianou – Best Computer Science Student Project
Professor Pete Atkinson, Faculty Dean, was delighted to present the prizes to the successful students. He said: “These awards are testament to the talent and commitment of our students. The successes also highlight the impact of our world-class staff, programmes and facilities that provide an excellent learning experience at the Faculty of Science and Technology.”
