We need your help! Come and help pack support boxes for women facing separation from their babies for the Giving HOPE project.

The HOPE Boxes are an innovation developed for women who experience separation from their babies due to safeguarding concerns. They have been co-developed with women with lived experience and underpinned by the Born into Care research carried out at Lancaster University. Our Born Into Care research demonstrates that nearly 3000 babies per year in England are subject to care proceedings within days of birth. Boxes are provided in pairs, one for mother, one for baby. The boxes hold various objects to offer support and preserve the connection between mother and child.

Join our packing event! Together, we aim to assemble over 100 pairs of HOPE boxes for distribution for use by midwives and social workers across Lancashire. Whether you can spare just half an hour or stay all afternoon, your help will make a difference. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
