Lancaster Arts is thrilled to welcome back award-winning contemporary circus company Gandini Juggling to the Nuffield Theatre as they celebrate their 30th anniversary. What better way to open our season on the theme of Flight than with the art of juggling, though not as we know it.
Enter the joyous, complex world of juggling and choreography with this eye-opening user guide that pretends to be a show (or is it a show that pretends to be a lecture?). The Games We Play is a celebratory exploration that asks what is juggling and what can it be? And what is art and what can art be? You’ll be dazzled and delighted as they answer these and other questions in inimitable, gravity-defying style.
The Games We Play is an animated self-portrait of a pioneering duo and their company, with a repertoire of some thirty productions staged more than six thousand times all over the world. Gandini Juggling was founded in 1992 by codirectors Sean Gandini and Kati Ylä-Hokkala, to reinvent and reinvigorate juggling for the 21st Century.
"An absorbing mix of juggling, dance and philosophy"
