Event Details
This October half-term, join The Ruskin and artist Jo Blaker for a free, family sketch-walk amongst the trees at the EcoHub.
Join visual artist Jo Blaker for a free, family sketch-walk amongst the trees: slow down, notice what you notice, and try new ways of recording nature. Inviting you to look closely, see clearly and imagine freely, Jo will guide you to tune-in to nature’s details, and capture some Autumnal magic with a variety of marks.
Jo Blaker is an artist with a passion for bringing people, place, play and drawing together in joyous, yet thoughtful ways. Jo holds an MA from the Royal College of Art, and has been delivering workshops regularly since 2011. Jo says, ‘drawing outside is my favourite thing to do. I love to walk, but once I stop to draw I slow down, I see more, I feel more and I hear more. I connect to the rhythms of birds and weather, and I relax. Drawing grounds me.’
Jo’s workshops support people of all ages and abilities on playful, creative journeys, incorporating structured activities designed to promote experimentation, observation and expression.
About
- Suitable for ages 6+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Come dressed for the outdoors; and in clothes than can get messy.
