Join recent graduate Emilio Garcia Padron as he delivers an inspiring message to first years, about how to squeeze the most value from your university experience.

Work in Progress is the University’s dedicated service for supporting you to take action, to positively impact the world around you. In this campfire session, recent Lancaster Graduate Emilio Garcia Padron will share his story of how experiences with Work in progress helped him to:

  • Build his confidence to work well with others and learn to make a difference
  • Act on opportunities and ideas in work placements, enterprise competitions, and challenges
  • Explore and develop his own curiosities and ideas
  • Make friends and build and community
  • Start-up his own software studio side hustle.

Now a maths postgraduate at Imperial College London Emilio is still exploring the direction of his career. And that’s OK. He, future employers or customers all have a guiding-light through his portfolio of stories of learning by doing, and the mindsets, tools and skills he has acquired to understand his value and navigate the journey ahead.
