Profile

Javier is a PhD Candidate in International Relations at Lancaster University and a SEPAD Fellow. He co-convenes the module ‘Peace Studies in the Middle East’. His doctoral thesis explores questions of order and ordering, identity, and the politics in the Middle East, with focus on Saudi Arabia. His research lies at the intersection between international relations, social theory and spatial theory. His research interests include the international relations and politics of the Middle East, political Islam, and questions of identity and belonging.
