Lancaster University Belt and Road Initiative Research Consortium (LUBRIC)

What is LUBRIC?

China's Belt and Road Initiative aims to improve regional connectivity via land and maritime networks through Asia, Europe and Africa along and beyond the ancient Silk Road trade routes.

Building on Lancaster University's position as one of the first British universities to engage in academic cooperation with China, and with four overseas campuses (China, Malaysia, Germany, and Ghana) dispersed across three continents, the Lancaster Belt and Road Initiative Research Consortium (LUBRIC) has established a global interdisciplinary research hub that focuses on challenges that are across China's Belt and Road Initiative.

We bring together academic experts, policymakers and practitioners, government officials and businesses to harness ideas, generate knowledge and provide actionable solutions.
