Are you unsure what you want to do in the future? Or you might have a few options but you’re not sure what to pursue? Book a Careers Guidance appointment, and speak to one of our lovely careers team about your options.

As a careers team we are here to help you! One way we can do this is by booking a careers appointment to talk about things like interviews, assessment centres, CVs or cover letters, as well as job searching.

Want an egg-ceedingly good cv?

Did you know some employers use online algorithms that read your CV for key words, and to check your suitability for a job? Upload your CV to CV360 on the Careers Portal, and receive a personalised report within seconds! You'll be given accurate and insightful feedback on your CV, with a list of ways to improve, including checking your spelling, headers, and sentences, mentioning your skills, checking chronology, and more!

Meet some egg-cellent connections

We have some fantastic employer events and workshops happening – you can find these on TargetConnect. They may not be the exact company you are interested in, but each employer will give really valuable insight into the world of work, and tips for success in the recruitment process.

Are you eggs-hausted from looking for internships?

Check out our Unite+ internships, and connect with local businesses in Lancashire, gaining some fab work experience, and engaging on a specific project. You can find these opportunities advertised through the ERS.

Employers are egg-static when they see this on your CV

The Lancaster Award rewards you for taking part in those extra-curricular activities outside your academic studies that supplement the excellent education you receive at Lancaster University, and enhances your future job prospects by encouraging you to acquire new skills valued by employers. You will undertake a variety of activities and reflect on the skills you have developed, aiding your skills development, and self-awareness which are vital for any recruitment process.

Egg-celerate your career with a part time job:

The Employment and Recruitment Service advertise for a range of part-time and temporary positions at Lancaster University and within the local community. These are fantastic opportunities to gain some more experience, and develop your transferable skills, as well as earn some extra cash. Many of these opportunities are also offered as remote working so check them out.
