The Centre for War and Diplomacy (CWD) at Lancaster University is pleased to announce the launch of Boydell Studies in War and Military History, a new international book series published by Boydell & Brewer and developed under the auspices of the Military History Consortium.

The series provides a platform for innovative scholarship on warfare, armed forces, and military institutions across all periods and regions, from antiquity to the present. Reflecting the mission of the Military History Consortium, it encourages research that situates war and the military within their wider political, economic, social, and cultural contexts, while also welcoming high-quality operational, strategic, and institutional military history grounded in strong empirical research.

Edited by Prof. Evert Kleynhans (Stellenbosch University), Prof. Timothy Stapleton (University of Calgary), and Prof. Marco Wyss (Lancaster University), the series will publish both original research monographs and intellectually coherent edited volumes that advance the study of war and military institutions and contribute to a vibrant, globally engaged field of military history.

Scholars interested in contributing to the series are warmly invited to contact the editors.

More information can be found on the Boydell and Brewer website.
