The LICA Building, Lancaster University
This two-day retreat will be a creative, relaxed space in which to explore the relationships between activism, storytelling and data science. The retreat is part of Remembering Resistance, a project that looks at women’s activism in the North of England. Through the project, we’ve collected hundreds of stories of activism. Now we want to explore their potential to bring about positive social change by using new approaches to data and data science. The two days will be organised around four themes guided by a series of questions. Most sessions will involve contributions from a data scientist, an activist and a storyteller to enable us to explore the intersections between these different perspectives in creative and interesting ways.
