We are excited to be celebrating 50 years of social work education at Lancaster University...
We are excited to be celebrating 50 years of social work education at Lancaster University. We will mark this occasion by celebrating our history but by also thinking together about what the future of social work education must look like to ensure that our profession is ready to face the challenges of the future.
The day starts at 10am with a welcome by Lyn Romeo and will finish at 4pm. It will include a mixture of presentations and workshops. The morning presentations will be by Michael Lambert and Corinne May-Chahal who will share their perspectives about the history of social work at Lancaster University. There will be an opportunity for you to share your thoughts too.
In the afternoon, there will be concurrent workshops on the themes of ‘change’, ‘community’ and ‘collaboration’ so attendees can chose which they want to join. We will finish the day with a panel which will aim to summarise themes from the day and think about the overall future direction of social work.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. There is paid parking close by the venue which is the George Fox Building on the Lancaster University campus.
