Event Details

A screening of the experimental documentary Shadow Game (2021), which follows a group of teenagers through the violent borders of Europe.

On the 14th February, we are screening the award winning experimental account of European asylum policy, Shadow Game (2021).

Shadow Game shows the far-reaching consequences of European asylum policy. Now that fences have gone up all over Europe, seeking asylum has become almost impossible. Teenagers cross snowy landscapes and meet aggressive border police on their way. Reaching their final destination has become more difficult than ever. Discussion will be led by academic, activist and border violence expert Arshad Isakjee, who works with asylum activists organizing in the Balkans to support refugees against border violence.
