The work of the Friends of Lancaster University in America
Many Americans who have attended Lancaster over the years remember their time at Lancaster as a very special experience that has remained with them and enriched their lives. The Friends of Lancaster University in America Inc. allows US-based alumni to help the next generation of students to share in the Lancaster experience through tax-deductible philanthropic support.
The generosity of American alumni makes a substantial contribution to University life. The Directors express their appreciation and gratitude to supporters of the Friends, and invite all alumni based in the States to consider contributing to this work.
Unrestricted funds raised by the Friends have been used to help Lancaster University students facing financial hardship, to help build a Mock Court Room for students at the School of Law, and to support Lancaster's world-class work in sustainable agriculture to help "feed the world".
Although US charity law requires that the Directors choose how donated funds are used, they are very supportive of donors who wish their donation to fund a specific area of work. Projects supported at the request of donors have included a chair in the Management School, many scholarship initiatives, social mobility outreach, colleges and sports activities.
If you wish to support a particular area of work, please note this for the Directors' consideration.
