Haidee is a PhD student at Lancaster University, specialising in multimodal discourse analysis of social media data. She currently holds the position of English Lecturer at Lingnan University in Hong Kong.
Research Interests
Her research is interdisciplinary, bridging linguistics, business communication, and psychology. She earned an MA in Linguistics (Distinction) from The University of Hong Kong, where her thesis examined the Cantonese morphosyllable bei and typologies of passive constructions across languages. She subsequently pursued an MSc in Marketing (Distinction) at King’s College London, focusing on the application of language and communication in business contexts. Building on her earlier studies in psychology, Haidee integrates psychological theories into her research, enriching the analysis of language and communication across academic and professional domains.
Career Details
Haidee has been engaged in higher education teaching since 2017, delivering courses in translation studies, general linguistics, and English for Academic Purposes. She is professionally certified by Trinity College London with a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and by IDP Australia with an IELTS teacher training qualification.
