PhD studentResearch Overview
I am a PhD Researcher in Politics at Lancaster University. My work lies at the intersection of Politics, Media and Communication Studies and South Asian Studies, where the relationship between digital media, political narratives and democratic order represents a main interest of mine. My doctoral thesis, "Digital Populism and Democratic Crisis in India: A Multi-Method Investigation of Media, Narratives, and Polarisation," uses a multi-method approach to explore how populist narratives circulate through digital media and how they shape polarisation and democratic life in India.
My broader research interests include populism, democratisation and democratic backsliding, political communication, social media and politics, and identity and polarisation, with particular focus on India and the wider South Asian context.
