Autism Acceptance Week at Lancaster University Library
Autism Acceptance Week runs from 27th March – 2nd April, and its aim is to raise awareness and acceptance of autism through education, and to celebrate the achievements of autistic people.
Autism is a spectrum condition and affects people in different ways. Like all people, autistic people have their own strengths and difficulties. The National Autistic Society believe that around one in 100 people are autistic, which means more than 700,000 people in the UK. Find out more about autism by watching their film, narrated by Alan Gardner, the Autistic Gardener.
The Library will be highlighting library resources, local support and events (local and national) throughout the month starting on Monday 27th March. These include:
- Neurodiversity online guide
- Autism acceptance week book display – Library Stairwell Mon 27th March – Fri 28th April
