We’re proud to mark Black History Month this year with a range of activities both in the Library at the Lancaster campus and online.
This year we wanted our student community to recommend a title to promote as part of Black History Month. We are grateful to Max Kafula, the newly appointed LUSU BAME Student Officer (20/21), who brought a fitting crowdfunding and book giveaway initiative to our attention. The Library has match-funded the fundraising campaign started by LEC PhD student Douglas Booker with the aim to bring 100 brand new copies of Akala’s Natives: Race & Class in the Ruins of Empire to the hands of students and staff.
